![]() That's also surprising, because every W1 or W3 I've ever tried has had some blurring in either left or right frames, and sometimes both. But in your comparisons, that was reversed the Canon images are much worse! By the way, at least in the images you posted, your W3 seems to have unusually good focus in both left and right views. I have three Canon cameras, and though two of them have image sensors roughly the same size as the W3 sensors, when I am working with images from either of them along with images from the W3, I never need to look at the file names to know which image came from which camera the Canon images *always* have far better image quality than those from the W3. I have to say, the comparisons with the Fuji W3 images surprised me. SmartDeblur only works with files, so one should use non-lossy compression such as TIF for the editing.įrom: On Behalf Of Rob Ellis via Groups.Io Sent: Thursday, Novem1:08 PM To: Subject: Re: Canon Ivy Rec - Don't Bother.īill, thanks for the image samples. I recommend a good refocusing plug-in such as Focus Magic. Sometimes it glitches and I get a huge difference in focus. I do have a very slight difference in focus between R&L that is nothing to write home to mother about. I generally have to correct my W3 images except for those in bright daylight. Using both can be better than just either one. SmartDeblur can detect and fix non linear camera shake, but Focus Magic only corrects linear shake. It can be used in multiple stages to achieve very good resolution. Focus Magic creates thin lines next to contrasting boundaries. Both produce artifacts but SmartDebur creates wide bands at boundaries with high contrast, and can bring out huge amounts of noise. I have used Focus Magic which is adequate for most purposes, but SmartDeblur gives better resolution. It is possible to use a good refocusing program to tweak the focus and get superb resolution on a normal HD monitor. I also had the button mechanically click, but not release the shutter a few times. But still, they work with all your favorite streaming services, so why go out of your way to drop $30, $50, or even $100 on a dedicated streaming device? The answer is simple-streaming sticks come with exclusive features and services, and they're often the first devices to gain access to new streaming platforms.ĭedicated streaming sticks take streaming to a whole new level thanks to their intuitive interface, voice controls, and personalization features that "learn" your preferences automatically. The Xbox and PlayStation use a lot of power and don't have some of the cool features of streaming sticks. It's also worth mentioning that, because most last-gen consoles boot from an HDD, their navigation menus and app load times are slower than current-gen consoles or streaming sticks. Don't worry, your last-gen console has several years of streaming left in it, but bugs, slow loading screens, and other problems will only grow over time. Other issues crop up if you stream from a last-gen console, as streaming services have little incentive to offer long-term support for the Xbox One and PS4. Consoles users also miss out on the streaming stick user interface, which makes it easy to find shows and movies thanks to personalization features and the ability to run a search on all of your streaming services at once. The Xbox and PlayStation also lack some of the features that are standard for streaming sticks, like a traditional remote control (unless you buy one for $30), smart home features, and platform-exclusive streaming apps (like The Roku Channel). Related: Everything You Need to Ditch Cable on a Budget ![]() ![]() Streaming sticks also wear down as you use them, but replacing a $60 Roku is a lot less painful than replacing an Xbox or PlayStation. Endless streaming could add wear to the console and shorten the lifespan of its internal components. And while the Xbox and PlayStation are supposed to endure hours of non-stop use, they aren't invincible. Opting for a shoe with cushioning can provide extra shock absorption for runners, and so may be a good option for older runners, runners with a history of stress injury, or runners who predominantly run on hard surfaces such as pavement, according to a 2020 article in Podiatry Today. When it comes to running shoes, “maximalist” footwear with a lot of cushioning has become big among ultramarathoners and people with a high-arch foot type, according to Butts, who specializes in sports medicine and treating foot and lower limb conditions in runners. The same goes for a rubber heel or wedge-style shoes, says Fu.Īnd both doctors agree that the sweet spot lies in the middle: a shoe that isn’t too hard or too soft. The problem can be exacerbated in those wearing dress shoes, but Fu and Dr. Some people strike the ground with their heel harder than others while walking, sending a shock up their legs and toward their backs. In addition to heel height, how well the shoe’s heel absorbs shock is important to how your back feels. That said, she also points out that most men’s shoes are neutral in heel height, so the heel and toe are on the same level - and that men have a lower incidence of back pain than women. While heel height is more typically a concern when it comes to women’s shoes, the concept of heel height as a positive applies to men as well, Fu says. Anything over that will not be kind to your back. The ideal range, she says, is between 1 and 2 inches. What qualifies as a “slight” heel? No matter how good they look, don’t buy shoes that are too tight, too loose, unsupportive, or in any way uncomfortable. When you try on shoes, spend some time walking around in them and paying attention to how they feel. Shoes, sneakers, and other footwear should feel comfortable and not pinch or irritate any part of your foot even when new. For some people, for example, significant limb length differences can lead to problems that are exacerbated by wearing the wrong shoes.īut for many people, simply identifying shoes that fit well, are adequately cushioned, and provide the right kind of support is a step in the right direction. ![]() Both doctors note that what works best for one person won’t necessarily work the same for others.
